Dr Vijay Mohan Kohli is a senior cardiac surgeon with 45 years of experience in adult cardiac surgery and has, till date, performed close to 10,000 heart operations. He is working as a senior consultant at the Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurgaon and Pushpawati Singhania Hospital in New Delhi. He practices Functional medicine at the Sampoornam Clinic in Hauz Khas, New Delhi, and is also a consultant to Dabur India Ltd. During the course of his career, Dr. Kohli was instrumental in setting up a number of cardiac centers/hospitals in different parts of the country, namely the prestigious Escorts Heart Institute (where he worked for over eleven years), Batra Hospital, and Action Balaji Hospital, all in New Delhi, the Hero DMC Heart Institute in Ludhiana, to name a few. He was also involved in the very first open-heart surgery operation performed at K G’s Medical College, Lucknow, way back in 1981.
During his long journey as a cardiac surgeon, he was drawn to the Ancient Indian Complementary systems of medicine and took courses in Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Energy Medicine, Acupressure, and Yoga (he is a yoga instructor too), and delved deep into Spirituality, since Spirituality is the root of all the above-mentioned modalities of treatment. Dr Kohli has conducted a number of panel discussions on various health issues and diseases, with a focus on Holistic Methods of healing.
Dr Vijay Mohan Kohli has been practicing Functional Medicine for the past few years and integrates the principles of the ancient Indian systems of medicine as well as the scientific principles of Functional Medicine. As a part of his Functional Medicine practice, Dr. Kohli is involved in the reversal of chronic metabolic diseases, namely, Diabetes, Hypertension, CAD, Obesity, Gut issues, autoimmune diseases, thyroid problems, etc.
