How the Indian Association of Functional Medicine handles the personal information of members, delegates, subscribers and visitors.

1. Who we are

The Indian Association of Functional Medicine is a non profit professional association for Functional Medicine doctors, nutritionists and health coaches in India. It is the working name of Functional Medicine Association, registered at No. 40, Shop No. 3, Ground Floor, 1st Main, 2nd Cross, Doctor’s Layout, Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560043, India. The association is the data controller for personal information collected through this website, and this policy explains how we handle it.

2. Information we collect

We collect the information you give us directly. This includes your name, email address, qualifications, city and practice details when you submit a membership enquiry, a contact enquiry, a referral request or a newsletter subscription. We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as the pages visited on this site.

3. How we use it

We use your information to process membership enquiries and applications, to administer conferences and educational events, to respond to the enquiries you send us, to send the newsletter where you have asked to receive it, and to maintain the member directory. We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to the work of the association.

4. The member directory

Directory listings are entirely voluntary. Members choose which details appear in their listing. Direct telephone numbers and personal addresses are not published. Enquiries from patients and colleagues are routed through the association rather than by giving out member contact details. A member may amend or withdraw a listing at any time by writing to us.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to run the association, for example with the service providers who deliver our email, process payments or host this website, and who act on our instructions. We may also share information where we are required to do so by law.

6. Keeping information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, and we limit access to it to those who need it for the work of the association. We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and for as long as we are required to keep it.

7. Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to receiving the newsletter at any time. Every newsletter includes a link to unsubscribe. Withdrawing consent to marketing does not affect your membership.
